Fair Price Shield privacy policy
Fair Price Shield browser extension, by Dale Weaver (dba 0xpi). Last updated 17 October 2026, version 2.4.1.
Fair Price Shield does not ask for your name, email address or any account. It sends two kinds of data to our server at primereviewspro.com, and nothing else.
1. An anonymous usage count
When you install the extension it makes a random install ID on your computer. It sends that ID once at install and at most once a day after that, together with the extension version, the browser family (Chromium or Firefox) and where you installed it from. We use it only to count installs and how many are still in use after 7 days. We do not store your IP address, user agent or referring page, and we do not combine the ID with anything else. You can turn this off at any time in the extension's Settings ("Anonymous usage count"). On Firefox it is off unless you turn it on there.
2. Crowd price reports
On supported travel and shopping sites, the extension sends the store name, an item key taken from the page address, and the price you were shown, with no ID attached. To show what the same item costs elsewhere, it also sends the address of the product page you are viewing and your country, again with no ID attached. This lets it show other shoppers what the same item costs in other countries. We work out the country from your connection and store the country, not your IP address.
What stays on your computer
Your settings, the local price history and the install ID are kept in your browser's extension storage. Tracker blocking and the optional Skew modes run entirely in your browser. Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored on your computer.
What we never do
We do not sell or share this data, run advertising, or use it for anything other than the two purposes above. The extension never reads or changes login, cart, checkout or payment pages.
